Pinus mugo 'Ophir' is a dwarf evergreen Mountain Pine of great beauty during all seasons. It forms a dense, globose mound with a flattened top. Its needles are pale yellow-green in spring and summer and turn rich golden in the winter. Occasional insignificant flowers produce small pine cones. Brightening up the garden as the season darkens, 'Ophir' is an extremely slow-growing pine that adds about 1 inch (2.5 cm) of new growth per year. A perfect choice for small gardens and containers!

- Grows up to 3 ft. tall and wide (90 cm) after 10 years.
- Performs best in full sun in well-drained soils. Mugo pine is not fussy about soils and grows in acidic, alkaline, loamy, moist, sandy, or clay soils as long as they are well drained. It is also drought tolerant.
- Perfect for coastal gardens, city gardens, rock gardens, and containers.
- Watch for aphids, adelgids, sawflies and pine shoot moth. Easy to grow, easy to care for, and rarely browsed by deer.
