Rose 'Golden Showers', Climbing Rose 'Golden Showers'
A valuable repeat-flowering climbing rose, 'Golden Showers' features large, sweetly fragrant, semi-double, golden-yellow blooms, 4 in. wide (10 cm), paling to light yellow as they mature. Blooming continuously from midsummer to early fall, this large climber has a stiff, upright growth with almost thornless stems and glossy, dark green leaves. An old favorite, this climbing rose is suitable for small gardens and perfect for covering a sunny wall, arbor, arch, even in shade. Extremely reliable in most climates, 'Golden Showers' is regarded as one of the best compact, yellow roses.

- Grows up to 6 ft. tall (180 cm) and 7 ft. wide (210 cm). May be pruned to grow as a shrub
- Best grown in full sun, in rich, fertile in moist, well-drained soils. Tolerates poor soil and shade. For best flowering apply a balanced fertilizer and mulch in late winter or early spring and a balanced fertilizer again in early summer
- Very disease resistant.
- Propagate by hardwood cuttings in autumn or by chip budding in summer
- Bred by Dr. Walter E. Lammerts in 1956.
