Aster ‘Wood’s Purple’

Adding brilliant color to the late season garden, Aster ‘Wood’s Purple’ is a dwarf aster with masses of small, semi-double, blue-violet to purple flowers adorned with a sunny yellow center. This dense, mounding aster features a foliage of glossy dark green leaves, which is noted for its excellent disease resistance. Blooming for weeks from late summer to early fall, the pretty blossoms of ‘Wood’s Purple’ are perfect for the sunny perennial borders or as edging plants.

• Typically grows with a bushy habit, up to 12-18 in. tall and wide (30-45 cm).
• Thrives in full sun or partial shade, in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils. Moist, rich soils are preferred. Provide good air circulation to avoid foliage diseases such as powdery mildew.
• Drought, salt and wet soil tolerant! Deer and rabbit resistant!
• Vital ingredient of late summer and fall borders, cottage gardens, coastal gardens or butterfly gardens. New York Asters are also valued for the excellent quality of their cut flowers.

• Cut back in late fall.
