Extremely showy, Glaucium corniculatum (Red Horned Poppy) is a biennial or short-lived perennial forming a handsome rosette of slightly hairy, scalloped, blue-gray leaves. In summer, rich orange-red poppy flowers are produced freely on long stems above the foliage. Adding months of color, they are attractive to bees. They give way to long, narrow, seed pods that ripen in late summer to spread their seed around the garden. Red Horned Poppy is easy to grow and undemanding.
