Pittosporum tenuifolium ‘Tandara Gold’ (Kohuhu) is a large, bushy, evergreen shrub or small tree boasting beautiful, small, leathery, yellow-green leaves adorned with irregular, dark green margins. They provide a luminous and dense variegated foliage year-round. Clusters of fragrant, tiny, dark purple flowers appear in late spring and early summer. While the flowers are inconspicuous, their sweet honey scent will fill the air with their perfume. Useful for a color accent in mixed plantings, screens, groupings, and even hedges.

  • Grows up to 10-12 ft. tall (300-360 cm) and 8-10 ft. wide (240-300 cm).
  • Thrives in full sun or part shade in fertile, moist, well-drained soils.
  • Very versatile, this plant is perfect for beds and borders. Well suited to city gardens, coastal gardens or cottage gardens.
  • Requires little maintenance. No routine pruning necessary. Remove diseased, damaged, congested or crossing shoots.
  • Generally disease free. Keep an eye out for glasshouse red spider mite, aphids, cushion scale and pittosporum sucker.
  • Propagate by semi-hardwood cuttings in summer.
