Low growing and durable, Veronica ‘Georgia Blue’ is a vigorous semi-evergreen perennial forming a brightly colored cushion of small, rich-blue flowers adorned with pearly-white eyes, over a long period from early to late spring and sporadically all summer. Even when not smothered with flowers, this outstanding groundcover remains attractive thanks to its lush foliage of small, lance-shaped, deep green, glossy leaves, tipped with bronze overtones. This native to Russia is ideal for a vibrant display in the spring garden and is perfect for underplanting with spring flowering bulbs.

  • Winner of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society
  • Grows up to 4-6 in. high (10-15 cm) and spreads by creeping rootstocks to 18-24 in. wide (45-60 cm). This Veronica forms a low maintenance groundcover that will suppress weeds once established. It is neither invasive nor aggressive.
  • Performs best in full sun, in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils. Tolerates light shade. Drought and heat tolerant once established.
  • Perfect choice for borders, edging, underplanting shrubs, coastal gardens, city gardens, cottage gardens, rock gardens or containers. Best when planted in groups.
  • Easy to grow, this Speedwell requires very little care and is fairly pest and disease-free (some susceptibility to powdery mildews and downy mildews).
  • Attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds but resistant to rabbits and deer.
  • Clip back hard immediately after flowering, to maintain a thick habit.
  • Propagate by division in spring or fall
