Mrs. N. Thompson Clematis, Large-Flowered Clematis 'Mrs. N. Thompson'
Clematis ‘Mrs N. Thompson’ (Early Large-Flowered Clematis) is a compact, deciduous climber boasting a profusion of large, deep violet flowers, 4-6 in. across (10-15 cm), adorned with red central stripes. Flowering occurs in late spring to early summer followed by a second flush in late summer. Stems are clad with attractive mid-green ovate leaves. Sun or shade tolerant, the compact habit of this easy-to-grow clematis makes it ideal for small gardens and containers. It is also perfect for covering trellises, railings, posts, arbors, pergolas or fences or as a colorful groundcover.
