Cigar Plant

Cuphea 'Starfire Pink', Cigar Plant, Starfire Pink Cuphea, Pink Firecracker, Pink Flowers

A garden knock-out when in bloom, Cuphea ‘Starfire Pink’ (Cigar Plant) is a compact, densely branched, evergreen shrub boasting masses of cigar-shaped, pinkish-red, white and violet flowers over a long season. Blooming from late spring to the first frosts, year-round in frost-free climates, the nectar-rich blossoms attract hummingbirds, butterflies and other pollinators. This Cigar Plant selection has a bushy, rounded habit and a pretty foliage of lance-shaped, pointed, olive green leaves. Easy to grow, heat and drought tolerant, disease resistant, it is a terrific addition to sunny garden beds and containers where it creates a dazzling display through the summer. Cuphea ‘Starfire Pink’ is a cross between Cuphea ignea and Cuphea angustifolia.
