Lavandula stoechas ‘Ballerina’ (Spanish Lavender)

A very attractive bicolor Lavender indeed! Lavandula stoechas ‘Ballerina’ features plump purple flower heads topped with long-lasting white flowers delicately fading to pink and purple as they mature. Also called French Lavender, Spanish Lavender, Bract Lavender, or Butterfly Lavender, this type of Lavender is a wonderful addition to the garden given the very distinctive look of its flowers and its highly aromatic silvery foliage.

• This French Lavender blooms almost continuously from mid-late spring to late summer. Flowering typically occurs as early as May (in areas with mild summers and winters) with another flush of blooms in June followed by another flush of color in late summer or fall.
• Evergreen in warm winter climates, this Lavender typically grows in a bushy mound up to 12-18 in. tall (30-45 cm) and 24 in. wide (60 cm). Resembling the foliage of Rosemary, the leaves are long, pointed, and soft gray-green.
• Thriving in full sun, it performs best in dry to medium, poor, light, sandy, and well-drained soils. Excellent drainage and air circulation are essential, specifically in hot, humid climates. Drought and dry soil tolerant.
• It is deer and rabbit resistant, and a real magnet for bees and butterflies.
• Spectacular in mass planting and superb in containers. Creates stunning hedges in summer thanks to its free flowering habit.
