Which Bulbs For Which Seasons ?

Spring bulbs, Summer bulbs, Fall Bulbs, when to plant bulbs, season for bulbs, planting bulbs

Bulbs are easy to grow and offer a wide enchanting array of colors, sizes, and blooming periods. We often think of bulbs as tulips, daffodils, or crocus but they include a plethora of other beautiful plants such as alliums, anemones, dahlias, iris, and many more. First of all, there are 3 main groups of bulbs based on their blooming seasons:

Spring Flowering Bulbs

  • They are planted in the fall (they require a “dormant” period of cold temperatures to stimulate their root development) before the first hard frost.
  • They are hardy and perennialize well.
  • There is no need to dig them out before winter
