Which Bulbs For Which Seasons ?
Bulbs are easy to grow and offer a wide enchanting array of colors, sizes, and blooming periods. We often think of bulbs as tulips, daffodils, or crocus but they include a plethora of other beautiful plants such as alliums, anemones, dahlias, iris, and many more. First of all, there are 3 main groups of bulbs based on their blooming seasons:
Spring Flowering Bulbs
- They are planted in the fall (they require a "dormant" period of cold temperatures to stimulate their root development) before the first hard frost.
- They are hardy and perennialize well.
- There is no need to dig them out before winter

Planted in midsummer, these bulbs will produce a bright display of colors within weeks after planting.
