Tatarian Dogwood Creme de Mint, Siberian Dogwood Creme de Mint, Cornus alba 'Crmizam'
Noted for its variegated foliage, Cornus alba Creme de Mint (Tatarian Dogwood) is a compact, suckering, deciduous shrub forming a thicket of vivid lime-green stems in winter. Often numerous, they radiate beautifully from the base of the shrub. Flat-topped clusters of tiny creamy-white flowers appear in late spring and sometimes sporadically flower in summer. While not especially showy, they attract butterflies and pollinators and give way to clusters of bluish-white berries that birds greedily devour in midsummer. The foliage consists of ovate, mint green leaves, thinly edged in white in summer, becoming tinged with pink or red in the fall. Prized for its variegated foliage, attractive berries, and showy chartreuse stems, this Tatarian Dogwood is a spectacular addition to the garden for most seasons.
