Zinnia angustifolia ‘Star White’ is a clumping annual producing a profusion of single, star-shaped, pure white flowers, 2 in. across (5 cm), that attract butterflies, honey bees, and other pollinators. Blooming abundantly from summer to frost, the blossoms contrast nicely against the foliage of narrow, lanceolate, green leaves. Tolerant of heat, humidity and drought, the plant is seldom damaged by deer. Plant in mass in a pollinator garden, along a border, or near a patio. Zinnia angustifolia works well in containers or hanging baskets, along a walkway, or in cottage gardens. Star white is resistant to Alternaria and powdery mildew.

  • Forms a dense, compact mound up to 14 in. tall (40 cm) and 8-10 in. wide (20-25 cm).
  • Extremely easy to grow, Zinnias are annuals which love full sun and prefer a humusy, evenly moist and well-draining soil.
  • Great choice for beds and borders or containers
  • Don’t crowd them to keep them disease-free and avoid powdery mildew. Air circulation is important!
  • Among the easiest plants to grow from seed, you can start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before the last first date, should you wish earlier spring blooms.
