Incredibly eye-catching, Dianthus chinensis heddewigii ‘Black And White Minstrels’ is a compact and free flowering Chinese Pink with quite unique, fully double, copiously laced, black and white flowers, 1 in. across (2.5 cm). Sweetly fragrant, their petal tips are heavily frilled, adding further charm to the display. Blooming throughout summer until frost, the striking blossoms rise above the grass-like, blue-green foliage. Easy to grow, and perfect for adding a splash of color in the garden, this tender perennial or hardy annual is an excellent addition to the sunny border, rock garden or containers. Splendid as cut flowers too!

  • Grows up to 14 in. tall (35 cm) and 12 in. wide (30 cm).
  • Prefers full sun and enjoys neutral to alkaline, well-drained soils. Excellent choice for hot dry sites or gravelly soils.
  • Extremely versatile, this Dianthus is ideal for beds and borders, garden edging, rock gardens, cottage gardens or containers.
  • Attracts bees and butterflies, but is ignored by deer.
  • Deadhead to prolong flowering. Clip back by half in early fall.
  • Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses.
