Noted for its long flowering season, Geranium (Cinereum Group) ‘Purple Pillow’ (Cranesbill) is a showy herbaceous perennial which produces a profusion of bright magenta-purple flowers, adorned with dark veins and an almost black center. The dainty blossoms rise atop a tidy, low-growing mound of deeply lobed, gray-green leaves which take on a red-purple tinge in the fall. This Cranesbill is a perfect addition to rock gardens, borders, or containers.

  • Blooming from late spring to fall, this hardy geranium is reliable, easy to grow, and provides long-lasting color.
  • Grows up to 6 in. tall (15 cm) and spreads up to 12 in. (30 cm).
  • Performs best in full sun or part shade, in well-drained soils. This Geranium is not fussy about soils provided they are well-drained. Sensitive to summer heat and humidity.
  • Attractive to butterflies, but deer and rabbit resistant!
  • A great addition to beds and borders. Perfect for rock gardens, Mediterranean gardens, or containers. Effective ground cover or edging plant.
  • Watch for vine weevil, sawflies, powdery mildew, or downy mildew
  • Clip the plant lightly after flowering is over, to encourage bushy growth.
