Blooming its heart out, Rosa ‘The Fairy’ is a dwarf shrub rose which produces abundant cascading clusters of small and delicate, rosette-like, double, clear pink flowers, up to 1 in. across (2.5 cm), packed with up to 25 petals. The blossoms emit a mild apple fragrance and stand out against the beautiful, fern-like foliage of very glossy, dark green leaves. Blooming continuously from early summer until frost, this compact shrub of graceful, spreading habit, has been popular since its introduction in 1932. Hardy, drought and shade tolerant, it is also very disease resistant. An exceptional choice for containers, as ground cover or flowering hedge.

  • Recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society.
  • Grows up to 2-4 ft. tall and wide (60-120 cm).
  • Best grown in full sun or partial sun, in rich, fertile with adequate moisture, well-drained soils. For best flowering apply a balanced fertilizer and mulch in late winter or early spring and a balanced fertilizer again in early summer
  • An excellent choice for beds and borders where it can be planted among shrubs, annuals and perennials. May be planted in large groups to create a colorful hedge or along a foundation to provide a bright border.
  • Propagate by hardwood cuttings in autumn or by chip budding in summer
  • Bred by Bentall (United Kingdom, 1932).
