Coreopsis ‘Berry Chiffon’ (Tickseed)

Tickseed 'Berry Chiffon', Coreopsis verticillata 'Berry Chiffon', Satin and Lace Series

Coreopsis Berry Chiffon, Tickseed Berry Chiffon, Drought tolerant plants, dry soil plants, heat tolerant plants, humidity tolerant plants, Pink flowers, Pink coreopsis

Floriferous, Coreopsis ‘Berry Chiffon’ (Tickseed) is a compact herbaceous perennial forming a sturdy, upright mound of finely divided, dark green leaves. Blooming continuously without deadheading from midsummer to fall, it gets covered with a profusion of white flowers adorned with a vibrant raspberry red eye. The cooler the temperature, the larger the raspberry eye. The airy clumps of fine, threadlike foliage add a lovely delicate texture element to the landscape. This tickseed is sterile and will not seed around the garden. Tolerant of hot and dry sites, highly resistant to powdery mildew, it is perfect for borders and containers.

  • Grows up to 15-18 in. tall (37-45 cm) and 18-24 in. wide (45-60 cm).
  • Thrives in full sun in dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils. Drought tolerant once established.
  • Easy to grow, relatively pest and disease free, this Coreopsis is a favorite of bees and butterflies but is ignored by deer.
  • Very versatile, it is a welcomed addition to borders, cottage gardens and does great in containers. Effective as an accent plant and spectacular in mass plantings.
