Heuchera 'Peach Flambe' (Coral Bells)
Coral Bells 'Peach Flambe', Alum Root 'Peach Flambe', Coral Flower 'Peach Flambe'
Award-winning Heuchera 'Peach Flambe' is a particularly attractive variety of Coral Bells with its foliage of lobed, rounded, long-petioled, bright peach leaves infused with red. Literally glowing in the spring and summer before the leaves turn plum-purple in fall, it provides multi-seasonal interest and adds drama to the garden.
- Won a first-place award at the Royal Dutch Flower Bulb Association show in 2008.
- In late spring - early summer, panicles of small, bell-shaped, creamy-white flowers bloom on purple slender stems rising up to 16 in. (40 cm) above the semi-evergreen foliage. This Heuchera' is prized by gardeners for its vigorous and compact habit and good resistance to powdery mildew. A versatile plant that looks great both in the garden and in combination container plantings. It is drought, heat, and humidity tolerant.
- This clump-forming perennial forms basal mounds, up to 7 in. tall (17 cm) with a spread of 14 in. (35 cm). This sturdy performer is not only easy to grow, but also requires little maintenance and is pest and disease free!
- Performs best in part shade, in rich, humusy, medium moisture, well-drained soils. If grown in full sun, make sure the soil remains consistently moist or the foliage might decline. Thrives in dry shade, once established. It is attractive to butterflies and often ignored by deer.
- A spectacular addition to beds, borders, rock gardens, and woodland gardens and is ideal as a groundcover, edger along paths, or in containers. Fabulous when planted in groups!
- Divide clumps in spring every 3-4 years.
- Remove stems of faded flowers to promote additional bloom. Apply winter mulch after the ground freezes to help prevent root heaving.
