Providing interest all year long, Rhododendron ‘Olga Mezitt’ is a small-leaved, early midseason Rhododendron boasting an abundant floral display of dome-shaped trusses of about 12 clear pink flowers in late spring. Each slightly fragrant bloom features inconspicuous golden green blotches that age to reddish-brown. The shiny green, lance-shaped aromatic leaves are disease resistant and turn lovely coppery-burgundy shades in winter.

  • Grows in a wide and upright evergreen shrub, up to 4-5 ft. tall (120-150 cm) and 3-4 ft. wide (90-120 cm)
  • Winner of the 2007 Cary Award, which recognizes plants that are particularly adequate for New England, offer superior landscape appeal, and are winter hardy and pest resistant. Multiple winner of the Rhododendron of the Year Award of the American Rhododendron Society for the Mid-Atlantic, Great Lakes, South Central, and South East Regions
  • A full sun or light shade lover, this plant is best grown in moist, acidic, humusywell-drained soils. Plant shallowly. Protect from frost to prevent damage to flowers. Mulch annually with leaf mold to retain moisture, control weeds, and cool the soil.
  • Perfect for beds and borderscottage gardens, banks, and slopes. Great as a flowering hedge or privacy screen too.
  • Removing spent flowers promotes new growth
  • Loves to be sheared often.
  • All parts of the plant are poisonous if ingested.
