Blooming its heart out, Rosa Crimson Meidiland® is a ground-hugging, landscape rose producing large clusters of semi-double, rich ruby red flowers, up to 2 in. across (5 cm), packed with 16 petals. They bloom continuously from spring until frost and are produced in great numbers, sitting above their wonderful glossy green foliage. As an added bonus, the foliage turns deep bronze burgundy in the fall. The spreading habit of this shrub rose helps to suppress any weeds while providing texture and color. Easy to grow, low maintenance, vigorous, extremely disease resistant, this popular landscape rose is perfect for mass plantings and erosion control.

Rosa Crimson Meidiland® belongs to the Meidiland® Landscape roses which are known for their spreading habit, long bloom season, bright colors, profuse flowering and exceptional disease resistance.

  • Grows up to 2 ft. tall (60 cm) and 3-4 ft. wide (90-120 cm).
  • Best grown in full sun, in rich, fertile with adequate moisture, well-drained soils.
  • An excellent choice for mass plantings and erosion control. Ideal for slopes and banks as it hugs the ground with weed-smothering vigor.
  • This shrub rose does not require special care. However, for best performance, cut back every year in early spring after the last threat of frost has passed.
  • Bred by Alain Meilland (1940-….) (France, 2007).
