Rosa ‘Fruhlingsgold’ is a vigorous, dense medium-sized shrub with masses of very fragrant, semi-double (9-16 petals), pale creamy-yellow flowers, 5 in. across (12 cm). Born in large clusters in late spring or early summer, they stand out against the gracefully arching thorny branches clothed in medium green leaves. This Modern Shrub rose is a sight to behold when in full bloom. Plant it where you will be able to enjoy its perfume daily: near a doorway, along a path, near your patio or deck. Good disease resistance.

  • Winner of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society.
  • Grows with an upright habit to 5-8 ft tall and wide (150-240 cm).
  • Best grown in full sun in rich, fertile, moist, well-drained soils. Tolerates poor soil and shade. For best flowering apply a balanced fertilizer and mulch in late winter or early spring and a balanced fertilizer again in early summer.
  • Perfect for sunny mixed borders or shrub borders. Effective as a flowering hedge or as an accent plant.
  • Propagate by hardwood cuttings in autumn or by chip budding in summer
  • Bred by Wilhelm J.H. Kordes II in 1937
