Attractive to bees and butterflies, easy care, drought and heat tolerant, deer and rabbit resistant, this dwarf yarrow is perfect for sunny borders, outstanding in containers, and excellent for cutting.

  • A vital ingredient of beds and borders, city gardens, cottage gardens, or patio containers. Achillea is also valued for the excellent quality of its cut flowers, whether in bouquets or dried floral arrangements.
  • No serious pest or disease issues. Keep an eye out for aphids, and powdery mildew. Deer and rabbit resistant.
  • Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering. Trim back hard after the first flush of bloom, to maintain a compact habit.
  • Propagate by division in spring.
  • Achillea millefolium species is native to Europe, Western Asia, and North America.
  • Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses.

Achillea, commonly known as Yarrow, belongs to the Asteraceae family, which also includes asters, chrysanthemums, and sunflowers. The genus was named after Achilles, the hero of the Trojan Wars in Greek mythology, who used the plant to stop the bleeding and heal the wounds of his soldiers. Achillea millefolium (Common Yarrow) is native to most of Europe and temperate parts of Western Asia. Brightening the garden throughout the summer, this perennial plant is versatile, easy to propagate, and available in a wide range of sizes and colors.
