Coreopsis rosea ‘Sweet Dreams’ (Pink Tickseed)

Pink Coreopsis, Pink Tickseed, Rose Tickseed

Award General
Coreopsis Rosea 'Sweet Dreams', Coreopsis Sweet Dreams, Pink Tickseed Sweet Dreams, Pink Coreopsis Sweet Dreams

Continuously blooming from late spring to midsummer, award-winner Coreopsis rosea ‘Sweet Dreams’ is a lovely sight in the garden with its airy mounds of delicate thread-like foliage, covered with a profusion of dark raspberry flowers beautifully white-tipped! As summer progresses, under high light and temperatures, the raspberry color spreads further out on the ray petals, developing a slowly changing color pattern.

  • Easy to grow, relatively pest and disease free, this eye-catching Coreopsis won the Plantarium Silver Medal in 2005.
  • Forming a dense, bushy clump reaching up to 18 in. in height (45 cm) and 24 in. across (60 cm), this plant prefers sunny locations in medium moisture, well-drained soils. Poorly-drained or heavy clay soils are to be avoided! In optimum conditions, this plant will spread from creeping rhizomes to form a ground cover.
  • Very versatile, it is a welcomed addition to borders, rock gardens, cottage gardens and does great in containers. Effective as an accent plant, groundcover (small area), path or patio edging and spectacular in mass plantings.
  • Deadheading of spent flowers will promote new blooms, although this can be tedious. Midsummer shearing (after the first flush of flowers) should help tidy up the plant and promote a fall rebloom. This cultivar is sterile and doesn’t self-seed.
