Papaver rupifragum 'Flore Pleno', Spanish Poppy Flore Pleno, Double Spanish Poppy, Orange flowers, Perennial Poppy

Papaver rupifragum ‘Flore Pleno’ (Spanish Poppy) is a clump-forming perennial boasting a profusion of semi-double, soft orange flowers in summer. Adding cheerful color to the garden, the flowers, 3 in. across (8 cm), are borne atop upright wiry stems and seem to float above rosettes of mid-green, lobed leaves. Tough and easy to grow, Spanish Poppy is drought tolerant and perfect to add long-lasting color to a rock garden or a dry garden.

  • Grows up to 12-18 in. tall (45-60 cm) and 12 in. wide (30 cm). May self-seed and can be short-lived.
  • Prefers full sun and enjoys deep, fertile, well-drained soils. Drought tolerant once established.
  • Perfect for beds and borders, cottage gardens, rock gardens or containers.
  • Keep an eye out for aphids, fungal wilts and downy mildews. Deer resistant.
  • Propagate by seed.
