Rosa 'Madame Isaac Pereire' (Bourbon Rose)

Rose 'Madame Isaac Pereire', Rosa × borboniana 'Mme Isaac Pereire', Climbing Bourbon Roses

Rich with a powerful fragrance, Rosa 'Madame Isaac Pereire' is a robust medium-sized shrub with ravishing, double, cup-shaped, deep raspberry-purple flowers, up to 6 in. wide (15 cm). The very large blossoms are packed with 55 petals that are gracefully back-turning. Introduced in 1881, this heirloom rose blooms in flushes from midsummer to early fall. It forms a vigorous shrub of open, arching habit with large, thick, deep green foliage. Can also be trained as a short climber.

  • Grows up to 5 feet tall and across (150 cm) and up to 8 feet as a climber (240 cm)
  • Makes a handsome specimen shrub in the landscape. It is also a superb addition to the back of the border and can be grown as a climber if tied in to some support, such as a wall, trellis, fence or pillar.
  • Best grown in full sun or partial shade, in rich, fertile with adequate moisture, well-drained soils. Tolerates some shade.
