Rosa 'Madame Isaac Pereire' (Bourbon Rose)

Rose 'Madame Isaac Pereire', Rosa × borboniana 'Mme Isaac Pereire', Climbing Bourbon Roses

Enjoying a rich and powerful fragrance, Rosa 'Madame Isaac Pereire' is a robust medium-sized shrub with ravishing, double, cup-shaped, deep raspberry-purple flowers, up to 6 in. wide (15 cm). The very large blossoms are packed with 55 petals that are gracefully back turning. Introduced in 1881, this heirloom rose blooms in flushes from midsummer to early fall. It forms a vigorous shrub of open, arching habit with large, thick, deep green foliage. Can also be trained as a short climber.

  • Grows up to 5 feet tall and across (150 cm) and up to 8 feet as a climber (240 cm)
  • Makes a handsome specimen shrub in the landscape. It is also a superb addition to the back of the border and can be grown as a climber if tied in to some support, such as a wall, trellis, fence or pillar.
  • Best grown in full sun or partial shade, in rich, fertile with adequate moisture, well-drained soils. Tolerates some shade.
