Rosa 'Sally Holmes' (Climbing Rose)
Rose 'Sally Holmes', Climbing Roses, Hybrid Musk Roses
Providing a charming display that is a feast for the eyes, award-winning Rosa 'Sally Holmes' is a vigorous, climbing rose with generous clusters of fragrant, single (4-8 petals), creamy white flowers, and pink-peach buds. The large blossoms, 3.5 in. across (9 cm), open their ruffled petals to reveal their golden stamens. They stand out against the healthy foliage of glossy, dark green leaves. Free-flowering and almost continuously in bloom from early summer to fall, 'Sally Holmes' is well-branched and almost thornless. Very versatile, it may be grown as a climber or a bushy shrub. Excellent cut flowers. Very disease resistant.
- Recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society.
- Featuring a bushy, upright habit, this ravishing and vigorous rose is an excellent repeat bloomer whose striking beauty allows it to be treated as a specimen plant in the landscape. It is also a superb addition to the border.
- Grows up to 6-12 ft. tall (180-360 cm) and 3-5 ft. across (90-150 cm).
- Best grown in full sun, in rich, fertile with adequate moisture, well-drained soils. Tolerant of partial shade.
- Bred by Robert A. Holmes in 1976.
