Dianthus ‘Frosty Fire’ (Pink) is an eye-catching evergreen perennial with masses of fragrant, fiery red, double flowers, 1 in. across (2.5 cm). Blooming in early summer and early fall, the vivid blossoms rise on short, stout stems above a low cushion of grassy, icy blue-green leaves. Easy to grow, and perfect for adding a splash of color in the garden, this Garden Pink is an excellent addition to the sunny rock garden, fabulous in containers and a cheerful edger at the front of the border. Drought and salt tolerant.

  • Grows up to 6 in. tall (15 cm) and 9 in. wide (22 cm).
  • Prefers full sun and enjoys neutral to alkaline, well-drained soils. Will tolerate some shade in the afternoon
  • Extremely versatile, this Dianthus is ideal for rock gardens, border fronts, garden edging or containers.
  • Attracts bees and butterflies, but is ignored by deer and rabbits.
  • Deadhead to prolong flowering. Trim lightly after flowering to maintain a tight, compact mound.
  • Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses.
