Blooming its heart out, Rosa Knock Out® is a compact shrub rose which produces abundant clusters of single to semi-double, vibrant cherry-red flowers, up to 3.5 in. across (9 cm), adorned with up to 11 petals. The blossoms do not fade in the heat and stand out against the disease-resistant, dark purplish-green foliage. The flowers bloom continuously from spring until frost and are followed by decorative orange-red hips. The foliage turns purple to burgundy in fall. Easy to grow, low maintenance, drought tolerant, and self-cleaning, this immensely popular shrub rose is an exceptional choice for the landscape and suits every garden and lifestyle.

Rosa Knock Out® belongs to the Knock Out® shrub roses known for their compact size, long bloom season, bright colors, profuse flowering, exceptional resistance to black spot, and winter hardiness.

  • Winner of the 2000 All-America Rose Selection – the most prestigious rose award in the USA, and the Cary Award, which recognizes plants that are particularly adequate for New England, offer superior landscape appeal, are winter hardy and pest resistant.
  • Grows in a rounded, bushy, and well-behaved shrub, up to 3-4 ft. tall and wide (90-120 cm).
  • Best grown in full sun or partial sun, in rich, fertile with adequate moisture, well-drained soils. This rose is noted for its ability to bloom in as little as 3 hours per day of direct sun with excellent disease resistance.
  • An excellent choice for beds and borders where it can be planted among shrubs, annuals, and perennials. May be planted in large groups to create a colorful hedge or along a foundation to provide a bright border.
  • Total blackspot resistance makes this shrub a truly disease-free landscape rose.
  • This shrub rose does not require special care. However, for best performance, cut back every year in early spring after the last threat of frost has passed.
