Strongly fragrant, Rosa ‘Paul Noel’ is a medium-sized rambler with graceful sprays of double strawberry-pink flowers with coppery and yellow undertones. Pleasantly apple-scented, the blooms, 3 in. across (8 cm), are very full (26-40 petals) and gradually fade to pink as they mature. Blooming freely in early summer, this rambler rose also experiences a good repeat performance in late summer. Well-branched, it has healthy, shiny, light green foliage that is red-tinged when young. Its flexible and graceful canes are perfect for training over pergolas or against walls and trellises. Shade tolerant, ‘Paul Noel’ is also ideal for a north-facing site. Good disease resistance.

  • Winner of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society
  • Grows up to 10-13 ft. tall and wide (3-4 m).
  • Best grown in full sun in rich, fertile, moist, well-drained soils. Tolerates poor soils, shade, and a north-facing site. Apply a balanced fertilizer and mulch in late winter or early spring for best flowering.
  • Propagate by hardwood cuttings in autumn or by chip budding in summer.
  • Bred by Rémi Tanne in 1910.
