Heuchera ‘Frosted Violet’ (Coral Bells)

Vigorous, Heuchera ‘Frosted Violet’ is an eye-catching cultivar of Coral Bells with rounded, lobed, pink-purple leaves maturing to silvery-purple to plum-purple with darker veining. These colors intensify with the cool fall weather for an even greater display. The fine hairs which cover the leaves seem to glow in the sun and give a lovely “frosted” appearance. In late spring to mid-summer, masses of small, dainty, pale pink flowers keep blooming on tall stems rising up to 30 in. (75 cm) above the evergreen foliage. Perfect for the landscape or containers where it combines extremely well with other shade loving plants in a wide range of colors.

• This clump-forming perennial forms basal mounds, up to 20 in. tall (50 cm) with a spread of 24-30 in. (60-75 cm).
• This sturdy performer is not only easy to grow, but also requires little maintenance and is virtually pest and disease free! This Heuchera is prized by gardeners for its heat and humidity tolerance.
• Performs best in full sun, part shade or full shade in rich, humusy, medium moisture, well-drained soils. If grown in full sun, make sure the soil remains consistently moist or the foliage might decline. Thrives in dry shade, once established.
• It is attractive to butterflies and often ignored by deer.
• A spectacular addition to beds, borders, rock gardens, woodland gardens and is ideal as groundcover, edger along paths or in containers. Fabulous when planted in groups!
• Divide clumps in spring every 3-4 years.
• Remove stems of faded flowers to promote additional bloom. Apply winter mulch after the ground freezes to help prevent root heaving.
