One of the most fragrant of all English Roses, award-winner David Austin Rose Port Sunlight features incredibly beautiful, rosette-shaped, slightly quartered, bold apricot-peach double blossoms, up to 3.5 in. wide (9 cm). Rich with a very pleasant and strong Tea Rose fragrance, each bloom is packed with many petals gradually paling towards the outside. Both foliage and young stems are bronzy-red at first, becoming fairly dark green. Free-flowering, exceptionally reliable, and resistant to disease, ‘Port Sunlight’ will catch your heart all summer long with its sublime perfume and sumptuous flowers.

  • Won the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society.
  • Easy to grow, this rose blooms in flushes from late spring until frost and is an excellent repeat bloomer.
  • Vigorously growing in an upright bushy shrub, 5 ft tall (150 cm) and 3-4 ft across (90 – 120 cm), it is effective as a flowering hedge, at the back of a mixed border, as an accent plant or as a climber against a wall. Excellent cut flowers!
  • Best grown in full sun, in rich, fertile with adequate moisture, well-drained soils.
  • The foliage of this English Rose is excellent and very disease resistant
  • Introduced in 2007, this rose has been named after the model village in the Wirral built by William Hesketh Lever, where they have a beautiful garden of English Roses.
  • David Austin’s English Roses combine the flower forms and perfume of Old Roses with the color range and repeat-flowering habits of modern roses. As a Rose breeder, David Austin’s achievement is in marrying the romantic “English Rose” look with reliable garden performance, vigorous growth, full bushes, disease resistance, and prolific season-long bloom. Over 200 English Roses have been released since 1961, many of them receiving the highest rewards.
