Incredibly tough and fragrant, Rosa ‘Maigold’ is a magnificent climbing rose with a profusion of large, semi-double, bronze-yellow flowers, 4 in. across (10 cm), with golden stamens. The pretty clusters are set off by the healthy foliage of glossy dark green leaves along the prickly arching stems. Blooming first in early summer, this deliciously fragrant climber produces a second flush of flowers in fall.

  • Winner of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society.
  • Grows vigorously up to 8 ft. tall and wide (240 cm). May be pruned to grow as a shrub. This climbing rose is an old favorite perfect for covering a sunny wall, arbor, or arch.
  • Best grown in full sun or partial shade in rich, fertile, moist, well-drained soils. Tolerant of poor soil and a north aspect. For best flowering, apply a balanced fertilizer and mulch in late winter or early spring and a balanced fertilizer again in early summer.
  • Very disease resistant.
  • Bred by Reimer Kordes in 1953
