Sedum ‘Night Embers’ (Stonecrop)

Noted for its unusual dark foliage, Sedum ‘Night Embers’ (Stonecrop) is an upright, clump-forming, deciduous perennial with a striking foliage of thick, fleshy, semi-glossy, dark black-purple leaves. Blooming in late summer and fall, a profusion of showy flowerheads packed with star-shaped, pale mauve-pink flowers are on display. They are borne on stout, upright, deep red stems and rise with majesty above the foliage clump. Both foliage and dead inflorescences remain attractive through winter, providing some additional interest. This sun-loving perennial is ideal for containers, alpine beds, rock gardens, and other hot, dry spots. With a narrow base and a vase-like habit, this showy sedum is perfect for small garden spaces.
