A popular variety, award-winning Chrysanthemum 'Ruby Mound' is a hardy garden mum featuring profuse sprays of large, rich ruby-red, semi-double flowers, up to 3 in. wide (7 cm). Blooming from early to late fall, the multibranched stems are covered with flowers which stand out against the green foliage. This perennial forms a dense, bushy mound. Easy to grow, it is an excellent choice for sunny borders or containers.

  • Recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society for its noteworthy qualities.
  • Grows up to 16-24 in. tall and wide (40-60 cm).
  • Best flowering occurs in full sun in fertile, well-drained soils enriched with organic matter and general-purpose fertilizer. Water freely in dry weather. Plant in a sheltered location to protect your Chrysanthemum from strong winds.
  • Pinch out the growing tip when the plants are 6-8 in. tall (15-20 cm) to encourage free-flowering, bushy plants. Cut back to near ground level in the fall. Propagate by division in late spring or by cuttings.
  • Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses.
