Noted for its early blooms and glorious fall display, Chrysanthemum ‘Clara Curtis’ is a hardy garden mum featuring profuse, large, up to 2-3 in. wide (5-8 cm), warm pink, daisy-like flowers adorned with golden centers. Blooming from late summer to mid-fall, the blossoms are borne atop stiff upright stems of deeply lobed foliage. They are produced in great quantities and literally cover the plant. This perennial forms a dense, bushy mound. Easy to grow, it is an excellent choice for sunny borders or containers, where it returns year after year, putting on a show that is unrivaled.

  • Grows up to 18-24 in. tall (45-60 cm) and 24-48 in. wide (60-120 cm).
  • Best flowering occurs in full sun in fertile, well-drained soils enriched with organic matter and general-purpose fertilizer. This Chrysanthemum tolerates a bit more shade than most. Water freely in dry weather. Plant in a sheltered location to protect your Chrysanthemum from strong winds.
  • Pinch out the growing tip when the plants are 6-8 in. tall (15-20 cm) to encourage free-flowering, bushy plants. Cut back to near ground level in the fall. Propagate by division in late spring or by cuttings.
  • Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses.
