Rosa ‘Buff Beauty’ (Hybrid Musk Rose)

Rose 'Buff Beauty', Hybrid Musk Rose, Shrub Roses

AGM Award
Rosa Buff Beauty, Rose Buff Beauty, Hybrid musk Buff Beauty, agm roses, Fragrant roses., Shrub roses, yellow roses, Climbing Roses

Regarded as one of the best Musk roses, award-winning Rosa ‘Buff Beauty’ is a vigorous, spreading medium-sized shrub with large clusters of deliciously scented, very full (over 41 petals), semi-double flowers in the most attractive shades of buff-yellow to apricot and paling to primrose. Rich with a strong tea fragrance, the pretty blooms stand out against the lustrous foliage of dark green leaves. Blooming in flushes from summer to fall, this sturdy, repeat-flowering shrub rose provides a charming display that is a feast for the eyes. Good disease resistance.

  • Winner of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society.
  • Can be grown as an arching shrub or as an elegant climber, up to 4-5 ft. tall (120-150 cm) and 3-5 ft. wide (90-150 cm).
  • Best grown in full sun, in rich, moderately fertile, moist, well-drained soils. Tolerant of poor soil, shade, and a northerly site. For best flowering, apply a balanced fertilizer and mulch in late winter or early spring and a balanced fertilizer again in early summer.
  • A superb addition to the mixed border and creates a lovely fragrant hedge. Its medium size allows it to fit small gardens and makes it perfectly suited to container planting. Plant it where you can enjoy its perfume daily: near a doorway, along a path, near your patio or deck.
  • Prune in late summer once flowering is completed.
  • Propagate by hardwood cuttings in autumn or by chip budding in summer
  • Bred by Bentall in 1939
