Pulsatilla
Regarded as some of the greatest plants for colorful early spring flowers and ornamental fruit in the plant kingdom, Pulsatilla (Pasque Flowers) are clump-forming herbaceous perennials boasting bell-shaped or cup-shaped flowers in early spring, followed by equally attractive silky-plumed seed-heads. Their ferny, silky foliage remains attractive throughout the growing season. Enjoying a long season of interest, these low growing plants are suitable for rock gardens or the front of the perennial border. They combine well with spring-flowering bulbs and ground covers. They all require excellent drainage.
