Hosta ‘Coast to Coast’ (Plantain Lily)

Hosta ‘Coast to Coast’ (Plantain Lily) is a very large, clump-forming perennial forming a striking mound of thick, heart-shaped, wavy-edged, puckered, bright chartreuse gold leaves, paling to paler gold with some sun exposure in the summer months. Pale violet flowers appear midsummer, rising on scapes 36 in. tall (90 cm) above the upright vase-shaped clump. But this hosta’s primary contribution is its dramatic coloring of the foliage. The heavy substance of the leaves helps to make this hosta more slug-resistant. Versatile, this hosta can be grown as a single specimen in a large container or in the garden.

• Grows up to 30 in. high (75 cm) and 36 in. wide (90 cm).
• Performs best in part shade to full shade in fertile, moist, well-drained soils. Shelter from cold, dry winds.
