Plantain Lily 'Paul's Glory', 'Paul's Glory' Hosta
Considered one of the best hosta for gold and green foliage, ‘Paul’s Glory’ (Plantain Lily) is also very interesting variegated hosta whose leaf color changes throughout the season. It forms an attractive, dense mound of ovate, heart-shaped leaves, which emerge in spring with a wide chartreuse splash in their center surrounded by blue-green margins. By early summer, the leaf center turns bright golden-yellow with dark green edges. Trumpet-shaped pale lavender blooms appear from mid to late summer, rising on scapes 40 in. long (100 cm). Quite large, this hosta adds a dramatic impact in the shade garden and appears to be more slug resistant than other hosta varieties.
