Hosta ‘Mighty Mouse’ (Plantain Lily)

Hosta ‘Mighty Mouse’ (Plantain Lily) is a small, low-growing perennial forming a pretty mound of rounded to ovate, blue-green leaves with a bright creamy yellow margin. As the season progresses, the leaves transition to gray-green with a creamy white margin. Loose racemes of small, pale lavender flowers appear just above the foliage in early summer. This small hosta makes a perfect addition to troughs, patio containers and small gardens.

• Grows up to 8 in. tall (20 cm) and 12 in. wide (30 cm).
• Performs best in part shade to full shade in fertile, moist, well-drained soils. Shelter from cold, dry winds.
• This foliage plant is perfect for the shade garden, mixed with other perennials in beds and borders, city gardens, cottage gardens, or containers. Great for edging, as a groundcover, or underplanting shrubs and roses.
• Watch for slugs and snails which could damage the attractive foliage.
• Cut off the stems after blooming to encourage the plant’s growth. Discolored leaves should be trimmed back to the ground.
• Propagate by division in early spring or late summer.
• Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses.
