Perfect for small gardens, Hydrangea paniculata Fire Light Tidbit is an incredibly compact deciduous shrub boasting a profusion of big, lush panicles from midsummer to fall. Held on thick and stems, the blossoms emerge creamy-white and develop bright pink and red tones as the season progresses. They are produced in such great quantities that they literally cover the foliage. Low maintenance, reliable and easy to grow, this dwarf hardy hydrangea can be used in mixed borders or patio containers. The flowers make great cut flowers, fresh or dried, or may be left on the plant where they will persist well into winter.
- Grows with an upright rounded habit to 24-36 in. tall (60-90 cm) and 36 in. wide (90 cm).
- Performs best in sun to partial shade in humus-rich, moist, well-drained soils. Afternoon shade in hot summer climates is recommended.
- Easy-to-grow plant with reliable flowering and flower color regardless of soil PH.
- Mass in mixed shrub borders for dramatic summer blooms, in front of walls, fences, taller shrubs and trees. Great for city gardens, cottage gardens or containers. Panicles may be cut for fresh arrangements or for drying.
