Sedum spurium ‘John Creech’ (Caucasian Stonecrop) is a spreading, mat-forming, semi-evergreen perennial with fleshy, scalloped, bright green leaves. Vigorous, it can quickly form a dense ground cover by creeping stems that root at the nodes as they spread along the ground. The striking green foliage remains attractive throughout the growing season. Sitting atop short stems, clusters of pink-purple, star-shaped flowers appear in summer. Drought tolerant, ‘John Creech’ can withstand poor, dry soil conditions. Wonderful as a ground cover, in the rock garden, along walkways or cascading over stone walls. Evergreen in warm winter climates.

  • Grows up to 2 in. tall (5 cm) and 9-12 in. wide (22-30 cm).
  • Best grown in full sun, in dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils. Tolerates some light shade.
  • Perfect for rock gardens, containers, as a groundcover or edging plant.
  • Virtually disease and pest free. Deer and rabbit resistant.
  • Low maintenance, this Sedum forgives neglect!
  • Propagate by softwood cuttings.
  • Sedum spurium species is native to the Caucusus.
