Silene (Campion)
Colorful choices for the rock gardens, border fronts or meadows and prairies, Silene (Campions) can be annuals, biennials, herbaceous or evergreen perennials. Mostly grown for their masses of charming 5-petaled flowers, they attract hummingbirds and butterflies. Some grow upright, others form low cushions. They usually self-seed readily and reliably pop up every spring. Easily grown in full sun or part shade in fertile, well-drained soils, there are over 700 species. There is surely one for your garden!
