Daylily 'Midsummer Nightingale', Day Lily 'Midsummer Nightingale', 'Midsummer Nightingale' Daylily, Late Midseason Daylilies
Hemerocallis ‘Midsummer Nightingale’ is a late midseason Daylily that produces profuse blooms of large, 6 in. wide (15 cm), velvety, burgundy red trumpets with a lovely white ribbon along the petal edges and a lemon-yellow throat. The flowers last at least 16 hrs (extended blooms) but no more than 24 hours (thus the common name ‘Daylily’), opening up in the morning and withering during the forthcoming night, possibly replaced by another one on the same scape (flower stalk) the next day. This tetraploid Daylily is dormant (deciduous).
