Daylily 'Purple de Oro', Day Lily 'Purple de Oro', 'Purple de Oro' Daylily, Daylily 'Razzmatazz', Midseason Daylilies
Among the most popular reblooming Daylilies, Hemerocallis ‘Purple de Oro’ is compact, and vigorous, and enjoys profuse blooms (up to 25 buds!) over an extremely long blooming period. This Daylily produces plumy purple flowers with ruffled edges and golden throats atop mounds of arching, blade-like leaves. Each flower, up to 3 in. wide (7 cm), typically lasts no more than 24 hours (thus the common name ‘Daylily’), opening up in the morning and withering during the forthcoming night, possibly replaced by another one on the same scape (flower stalk) the next day. Nicely branched (up to 3 branches), ‘Purple de Oro’ enjoys a great bud count (up to 25 buds!). This midseason Daylily is diploid and dormant (deciduous).
