Storm Shelter Hemerocallis, Daylily 'Storm Shelter', Day Lily 'Storm Shelter', Storm Shelter Daylily, Midseason Daylilies, Reblooming Daylilies, Rainbow Rhythm, Series
Standing up to adverse weather, Hemerocallis ‘Storm Shelter’ (Reblooming Daylily) is a compact perennial boasting a profusion of large, fragrant, light purplish-pink flowers, 5 in. across (13 cm), adorned with a merlot wine halo and picotee edge trimmed in white. Blooming in mid-summer and again later in the season, the attractive blossoms are held neatly above its compact mound of arching, linear leaves. Each flower typically lasts no more than 24 hours (thus the common name ‘Daylily’), opening up in the morning and withering during the forthcoming night, possibly replaced by another one on the same scape (flower stalk) the next day. This reblooming midseason tetraploid daylily is dormant (deciduous). Excellent for perennial gardens and containers.
