Cold-hardy and one of the finest dessert wine varieties, award-winning Vitis ‘Boskoop Glory’ is a vigorous deciduous climbing shrub or vine producing sweet and aromatic black grapes. They can be eaten fresh from the vine or used for making wine. Reliable and disease-resistant, ‘Boskoop Glory’ features finely-shaped, dark green leaves which turn vibrant shades of coral, scarlet, and purple in fall. Fragrant, insignificant greenish-white flowers appear in early summer, followed by clusters of juicy, blue-black grapes in late summer or early fall. ‘Boskoop Glory’ is an excellent combination of fantastic foliage that can clothe a structure beautifully and excellent fruit. Give it plenty of sun, a sheltered spot, and sturdy support, and it will reward you with its best fruits.

  • Winner of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society
  • It usually ripens mid-early in the season, making it perfect for Northern gardeners. The grapes make excellent wine if left on the vines long enough to boost the sugars.
  • Easy to grow, this Grape Vine can grow up to 20-30 ft. tall (6-9 m) and 6-10 ft. wide (1.8-3 m).
  • Thrives in full sun in deep, loamy, humus-richmedium moisture, well-drained soils. Tolerates a wide range of soil conditions, but good drainage is essential. Best sited in a location sheltered from winter winds (preferably a sunny south-facing slope) and well removed from frost pockets. Needs good air circulation.
  • Grape vines require sturdy support for their twining stems, such as pergolas, walls, or fences. Perfect in cottage gardens or Mediterranean gardens.
  • Propagate by hardwood cuttings or grafting onto Phylloxera resistant rootstocks
  • May be affected by powdery mildew and botrytis
