Monterrey Jack Hemerocallis, Daylily 'Monterrey Jack', Day Lily 'Monterrey Jack', Monterrey Jack Daylily, Early Season Daylilies
Hemerocallis ‘Monterrey Jack’ (Daylily) is a compact perennial boasting a profusion of large, creamy yellow flowers, 5.5 in. across (14 cm), adorned with a raspberry red halo and green throat. Blooming in early summer, the attractive blossoms are held neatly above its compact mound of arching, linear leaves. Each exquisitely ruffled flower typically lasts no more than 24 hours (thus the common name ‘Daylily’), opening up in the morning and withering during the forthcoming night, possibly replaced by another one on the same scape (flower stalk) the next day. This early season tetraploid daylily is dormant (deciduous). Excellent for mass plantings, erosion control, and perennial borders.
